Welcome to St. John the Evangelist R.C. Primary School
This is an AIDED, CO-EDUCATIONAL, PRIMARY SCHOOL catering for girls and boys between the ages of 4+ and 11 years of age.
There is also a Nursery class for children from the age of 3 years.
Parents who are considering sending their children to the school should contact the Head Teacher to arrange a suitable time to visit.
A Catholic School like ours is classed as an “Aided” School because, unlike most schools, it is only partially funded from Local and National Government. The Parents of St. John’s have to pay for new building and improvements. As a parent of St John’s therefore you are automatically part of the P.T.A.
Although the church and the school support education, parents are the first and primary educators of their children. You should not let go of your responsibility or allow your role to be eroded. Nor should you underestimate the many ways that God equips you and offers His Grace to enable you to carry out your task.
Parents need God’s grace because of the many demands of modern living. God has given parents a natural authority but like God’s own authority it is exercised as an expression of love.
As your children enter a wider world nothing can replace your ability to communicate a loving reverence for God and for the essential values of human life.
You need to understand that you are preparing your children to play their part in contributing to the development of society and also in the life and mission of the Church.
